Plant Milkweed and Help The IBBA Save Our Monarchs
Monarchs need your help. Planting milkweed is the easiest thing a person can do to help the monarchs.
Milkweed Planting Instructions
To increase the germination rate, wrap the seeds in a moist paper towel, put the paper towel in a Ziploc bag, and then put the bag in the refrigerator for 30 – 60 days.
After the last frost, plant the seeds in a sunny location, about 1/2″ deep and 12″, apart and then water them daily for two weeks. The seeds should germinate in 2 – 4 weeks.
Feed me! Monarch caterpillars only eat milkweed. Caterpillars need 20 – 25 big leaves to make it to the chrysalis stage.
